I only bake mine for 45 minutes and it seems fine. This is a very good meat loaf. Sometimes I put some sauce on the top before baking.Meatloaf recipes and tips?
Tubby needs help. All of her past answers are gross!

I use a package of Mccormick meatloaf (at your local grocery store near the gravy mixes) and follow the directions on the package....I have tried may recipes and this one has that ';my grandmother made it'; taste.
This is what i do

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a small bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and dry mustard until smooth.

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, shredded bread, onion, egg, bouillon, 3 tablespoons lemon juice, and 1/3 cup of the ketchup mixture until well mixed. Form into a loaf and place in a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

Bake 1 hour. Pour off fat. Pour reserved ketchup mixture over loaf. Bake 10 minutes more.

Long Time Family Meatloaf Recipe

1 lb. ground beef

1 egg

1 pkg. crackers, crushed or 1 c. bread crumbs, plain or flavored

1 med. onion, chopped

1 med. green pepper, chopped

1/2 c. chopped celery

1 med. apple or pear, chopped

1 tsp. pepper, black or red

1 tsp. low sodium salt

Ketchup or barbecue sauce

Your favorite cheese

3 slices bacon (optional)

Place all of the ingredients in a large bowl, except for the bacon. Now, here comes to fun part. Pretend you're a little kid again and squish everything together. It fells real gooey between your fingers. After you have had enough fun place half the mixture in a small rectangular baking dish. Place the slices of cheese on to the mixture and then place the rest of the mixture on top of the cheese.

If you choose you can place the bacon on top of the meatloaf. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the mixture in the oven and bake for about 1 hour.

Remove from oven and allow to cool for a couple of minutes.

CHICKEN MEAT LOAF

1 (6 oz.) box Stove Top dressing

1/3 stick butter

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 can chicken noodle soup

1/3 lb. Ritz crackers, crushed

1/4 stick butter, melted %26amp; mixed with Ritz crackers

1 sm. can chicken

Put Stove Top dressing in bowl. Add 1/3 stick butter. Stir in soups (diluted with 1/2 can water). Add canned chicken. Mix Ritz crackers with 1/4 stick melted butter. Put half of this mixture in bottom of 9';x13'; pan. Spread chicken mixture over the crumbs. Top with the remaining crumb mixture. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

HEARTY HOT DISH

2 lbs. ground beef

1 good sized onion, minced

2 eggs

3 stalks celery, diced

1/2 c. water

1/2 c. butter

1/4 tsp. salt (optional)

1 tsp. pepper

American or Mozzarella cheese

1 box chicken or pork

Stove Top dressing mix

2 cans cream of chicken soup

Mix hamburger, onion, eggs, celery, water, butter, salt, and pepper. Spread in bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan. Spread thin layer of sliced or grated cheese over meat. Then slice thin layer of raw potatoes (I precook mine for 10 minutes). Prepare dressing according to directions and spread on top of potatoes. Pour the soup evenly over entire mixture. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees, uncovered. Serves 8 to 10.
I'll give you mine, which is always a HUGE hit here......but because I raised 3 hungry boys, I can only make a 3# loaf!

You can split the mixture in half, though, and freeze part of it in a loaf shape to bake another time.

3# ground beef, 1 cup of quick-cooking dry oats, 1 package onion soup mix, 1/2 cup catsup, and 2 eggs.

Beat the eggs lightly, then stir in the soup mix, catsup and oatmeal. Add beef, and squash together with your fingers until thoroughly mixed.. Shape into a loaf ( or 2 loaves) in a 9x13 cake pan.

( Freeze one loaf on a pan until solid, then wrap tightly in foil and a sealed bag. Thaw completely before baking.)

Bake at 350 degrees for 60-75 minutes, until no longer pink.

When my boys were teens, there would be NO leftovers from one 3# loaf! You will LOVE the smell as it cooks...the best recipe ever.
I almost always combine two different types of meat, usually ground beef and turkey or ground beef and chicken. Then I add chopped onions, celery, some fresh herbs if they are available, thyme is my preference, one egg, and a cup of raw oatmeal. Form it into your loaf shape and you can either lay strips of bacon across it or leave it plain until the last half hour and cover it with a glaze made from ketchup, brown sugar, and a little vinegar. Sorry I can't give you a more exact recipe. It's never hte same from one time to the next, but it's always good!
1lb of minced steak. 1 packet of sage and

onion stuffing. 2 medium sized eggs

Half a teaspoon of garlic powder.

1 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons of tomato sauce

Salt and pepper.

mix together, best to do this with your hands,

Bake on gas mark 5 for 1 hour and 10 mins

This is a wonderful tasty meat loaf.
Here are the igredients I like to mix in with the hamburger:

bread crumbs

an egg

garlic power

cayane pepper (or red pepper or chile pepper) powder

onion powder

chopped onion

1 tsp worschestshire sauce

ketchup

salt

pepper

(I don't really measure, just put in the amount that seems reasonable)

I also top my meatloaf with a special sauce:

1 c. ketchup

1 small can of tomato paste

little less than 1/4 cup of vinegar

1 tsp. Worschestshire sauce

salt

pepper

*mix it together and spread on top before baking

I cook mine in the microwave in a glass pan: 6 minutes on medium setting, then 10 + minutes on high, until the meat is done.
1 beef stock cube

1 medium onion

2 carrots

100g mushrooms

1/2 tube tomato puree

500g lean minced beef

500g butchers sausage meat

Preheat the oven to 180 c.

Finely chop the onion and start to gently fry in a pan with a little water, grate the carrots and add them. Finely chop the mushrooms and put them in too. Keep these veg damp, but not drowned. When these have been cooked until soft, add the tomato puree and the beef stock cube, mix and leave to cool a little.

Put the mince and the sausagemeat into a bowl and mix them thoroughly together with the veg from the pan. Put into a large loaf tin and bake for approx 1 hour.

Enjoy!!

I normally add 2 eggs to 1 lb. beef... Then I add salt, pepper, onions, and some montreal hamburger seasoning.. I also put some McCormick Salad seasoning.

I use italian bread crumbs sometimes. Most of the time I add just a little bit of bread crumbs, but I also peel off real bread, and I crush up some Jalapeno Potato Chips (adds a GOOD flavor)..

Once its thick, I form the meatloaf.... I then Scoop out a long trench along the top of the meatloaf, and add a few slices of cheese.

Then I replace the scooped out meat and throw it in the oven....

You can add some green peppers to the meatloaf too if you like, but not to much...

Cover with beef gravy or katsup
I am not a fan of meatloaf - but I watched a show on our food network the other night where people are competing to get their own tv show.

One team made meatloaf and then found the oven wasn't working - so they deep fried it. I thought it sounded gross, but when they served it everyone loved it!!!
use fresh garlic, fresh tomatoes (crushed), extra lean grnd beef, italian bread crumbs (instead of regular bread)
use 100% man beef IE a penis.
